What Is a Combustion Liner?
A combustion liner is the inner cylindrical shell of a gas turbine combustor where fuel and compressed air mix and ignite. Also referred to as a flame tube or combustor basket, it is one of the most thermally stressed components in the entire turbine. It must withstand sustained flame temperatures exceeding 1,500°C while directing the hot combustion gas evenly into the turbine section.
Because combustion liners operate in the extreme environment of the hot gas path, they are subject to thermal fatigue, oxidation, creep, and cracking over time. Regular inspection and timely replacement are critical to maintaining turbine efficiency, emissions compliance, and operational safety. Whether you need a replacement for a scheduled outage or an emergency AOG situation, AeroTurbineSpare stocks a wide range of combustion liners for the most common industrial and aeroderivative gas turbine frames.
